Introducing the latest recruits…

Introducing the latest recruits…

In the past couple of months we’ve added two new team members to our ranks. Sam and Matt have joined the Digital PR and PPC departments respectively, so we thought we’d finally sit down with them and have a little chinwag.

Please ignore the photo; we didn’t have an updated one of just Sam and Matt. To be fair, Anthony joined us not long before them – his introductory blog post can be found here.

First (and honest) impressions of The Audit Lab and everyone in it?

Matt: I thought it seemed like a quality place to work full of great people, I was very excited
to get settled in.

Sam: Welcoming, supportive and with a lot of interesting analogies.

Describe the Audit Lab in three words

Matt: Friendly, fun and fittt.

Sam: Friendly, sociable, chill.

What did you do previously?

Matt: Went to Uni and graduated in Journalism. Also, I worked part-time in a kitchen at a local Wetherspoon’s for 5 years.

Sam: I did my Journalism degree in Leeds and then I was doing social media freelance for a while. I loved talking to new people and keeping up with what’s going on in the world, so the PR role was perfect!

Thoughts on the PPC / Digital PR world so far?

Matt: I’m really enjoying everything that I’ve learned and I’m looking forward to continuing developing my skills in PPC. However, there are times where I find it daunting as it’s something that’s completely new to me.

Sam: There’s always a story to tell. It’s exciting, creative and things are always changing so it never gets repetitive!

So what exactly do you do here?

Matt: Junior PPC Executive.

Sam: I get positive publicity for our clients by coming up with strategies and attempt to build them coverage through the campaigns.

What motivates you in your work?

Matt: Wanting to do well in my new role, get results and feel like an important part of the company.

Sam: Seeing the clients as excited about what we’re doing as we are!

What’s the best part of your working day?

Matt: The office banter, dinner and 4pm lol.

Sam: After around 3pm when the professionalism goes downhill.

What are you looking forward to at The Audit Lab?

Matt: Becoming familiar with all the workplace surroundings i.e. the clients etc. and the socials.

Sam: Growing with the clients, becoming more aware and creative. Getting some really cool coverage.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Matt: Junior PPC Executive.

Sam: Picture Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. “Florals for spring? Ground-breaking.”

What’s your favourite animal?

Matt: Nick Boyle.

Sam: Dogs, especially my Labrador Frankie!

Tell us something we don’t know about you…

Matt: *declined to answer and looked suspicious*

Sam: I have an abnormally large collection of fuzzy socks and wear them under every shoe I can.

What’s your brew order?

Matt: Coffee, milk, sugar.

Sam: I haven’t given in to the temptation of becoming a coffee addict yet, so I’d say a hot chocolate if that counts?

You’re having a dinner party with any three people from history, dead or alive, who do you invite?

Matt: Lionel Messi, Alex Turner and Jim Morrison.

Sam: Ariana Grande, Ryan Reynolds and Michael McIntyre.

You’re going to a deserted island, what three things do you take with you?
